Ask Ramon a question

Why did you choose this master’s programme at KTH?

I chose this master's programme at KTH for several compelling reasons. KTH stands out as one of the top aerospace engineering universities globally, offering a multicultural environment that enhances teamwork skills and allows for hands-on specialization in a specific track. Given my long-standing fascination with space, pursuing a space-focused master’s was the perfect fit for me. Moreover, the programme's location in Stockholm was particularly attractive due to the city's reputation for innovation, sustainability, and high quality of life.

What are the best aspects of your programme?

The best aspect of our programme is the high degree of customization it offers. While each track includes some mandatory courses, students have the flexibility to tailor their study plans around their main areas of interest. This allows students to study subjects they are passionate about and create unique and interesting course combinations. For example, I have been able to attend control-oriented courses that complement my knowledge in spacecraft attitude control. Additionally, the programme includes several project-based learning opportunities that foster interpersonal skills, which are invaluable in professional settings.

What are some of your favourite courses so far?

One of my favourite courses so far is Spacecraft Dynamics. This course is structured into three main components: rigid body kinematics parameterizations in three dimensions, rigid body dynamics, and nonlinear spacecraft stability and control. Throughout each segment, students delve into the theoretical foundations before collaborating in small groups to tackle quizzes and problem sets. Although the 9-credit course demands considerable dedication, including some MATLAB coding, the valuable learning outcomes make the endeavor entirely rewarding.

How is student life in Stockholm?

Student life in Stockholm is truly captivating. For nature lovers like me, the city is surrounded by many green areas perfect for exploration and relaxation. On top of that, Stockholm also offers many cultural activities and stunning landmarks which are worth experiencing throughout the year. Moreover, there is also a vibrant community of student associations and chapters on Campus, offering several activities suited to everyone's interests.

What would you like to say to students thinking of choosing KTH for master’s studies?

Studying in KTH means embarking on a remarkable journey rather than just reaching a destination. Here, you'll find many opportunities for innovation and learning, including research collaborations and student projects. These experiences not only refine your technical skills but also cultivate essential interpersonal competencies crucial for thriving in engineering settings. Personally, studying at KTH has proven to be immensely fulfilling, receiving top-level education while maintaining a balanced lifestyle. The question now is: Are you ready to embark on your master's journey at KTH?
