KTH's President and Management
The President is Head of authority and has the overall responsibility for KTH's activities under the University Board. The President is appointed by the Government for a maximum of six years following a proposal from KTH's University Board. The Deputy President is appointed by KTH's University Board and is the President's deputy.

The President's responsibilities and tasks
The President is the head of authority and is directly responsible to the University Board. The President is responsible for all matters for which the University Board is not responsible, unless otherwise prescribed or decided. The division of work between the Board and the President is set out in the rules of procedure at KTH (arbetsordning vid KTH). The President is a member of the University Board. The President shall keep the Board informed of the activities, provide the Board with documentation for decisions and is responsible for ensuring that the Board's decisions are implemented. The President deals with matters primarily at the Presidents decision-making meetings.
The Deputy President's responsibilities and tasks
Deputy President takes decisions on behalf of the President. The Deputy President also replaces the President to the extent that the President decides. The division of work between the President and the Deputy President is set out in the delegation regulations for KTH and other decisions. The Deputy President has overall coordination responsibility for KTH's strategic research funding and strategic collaboration.
University Director and Deputy University Director


The University Director's responsibilities and tasks
The University Director is the head of the University Administration. The University Director also has tasks as set out in the rules of procedure at KTH, the delegation regulations for KTH and other decisions. The University Director deals with matters primarily at the University Director's decision-making meetings.
The Deputy University Director's responsibilities and tasks
The Deputy Director is the deputy to the Director and has the tasks decided by the Director. The Deputy Director is the Head of Management Office.
Management Group
The KTH management group consists of the President, the Deputy President, all Heads of schools, the University Director, the Deputy University Director and the President of the THS student union. The management group manages matters concerning strategic management and governance of the University. The group is also advisory consultative to the President in matters concerning planning, follow-up and development of the University’s work and activities. The KTH management group meets every Tuesday. Once a month, an extended management group is held, where in addition to the above members, the Vice Presidents, the Dean of Faculty and the Vice Dean of Faculty also participate. The President decides on the right of attendance for others in the management group.
