Welcome to the 36th NOFOMA Conference

By the Swedish Defence University and KTH Royal Institute of Technology

We are excited to announce that the 36th annual NOFOMA conference will be held in Stockholm, Sweden from June 13-14, 2024, with NORDLOG and Educators Day on 12 June.

NOFOMA is the leading Nordic logistics and supply chain management conference that invites and brings together researchers, practitioners, and educators from all over the world to share their insights and experiences. The conference provides a platform for participants to engage in discussions on the latest research, trends, and challenges in the field of logistics and supply chain management. The theme for this year’s conference is “Logistics and Supply Chain Management in a Risky and Uncertain World”.

Winner of Schenker Award best paper:

  • Fredrik Stahre and Erik Sandberg, Linköping University: "Supply Chaing Resilience Strategies - A Case of Critical Agricultural Products in Sweden"

Winner of Göran Svensson Award:

  • Martin Svanberg, RISE, Johan Woxenius, University of Gothenburg, Sara Rogerson, RISE, and Patrik Jonsson, Chalmers University of Technology: "Remember the pandemic? Analyzing long-term implications for actors in international supply chains"

This year no one was given the best doctoral student paper Award. Encourage your phd candidates to write without senior co-authors.

Nominees to the special development process with IJPDLM are:

The process for nominating papers to Scandinavian Journal of Military Studies will be conducted during the summer period and nominees will be informed in August.

  • 15 January 2024: Early bird registration (Now closed)
  • Extended to 26 January 2024 10 am (CET), : Submission of abstracts
  • 29 January 2024: Acceptance of abstracts
  • 18 March 2024: Submission of full papers
  • 22 April 2024: Reviewers’ comments out
  • 13 May 2024: Submission of revised full & WIP papers
  • 3 June 2024: Detailed program on EasyChair

12 June: the doctoral workshop NORDLOG  and Educator’s Day . Welcome reception and networking in the evening.

13 June: first day of papers presentations. Conference dinner in the evening.

14 June: second and last day of presentations.

Call for papers

Researchers can submit full or WIP papers. The editors of International Journal of Physical Distribution and Logistics Management will invite the 5-6 best papers to a Special Development Process where they will get support by the IJPDLM senior editors to ensure in the end publication. Selected defence logistic papers will be invited to a special selection in The Scandinavian Journal of Military studies.
