Ajhay comes from India. Before coming to Sweden, he earned his bachelor’s degree in Automobile Engineering from Anna University and now he is pursuing his master’s in Vehicle Engineering at KTH, with interests in Vehicle Dynamics and Control Systems. Why did you choose this master’s programme at KTH?

I chose this master's programme at KTH because I have always had a deep specialization in Automobile Engineering since my bachelor's studies and aspired to advance my knowledge in this domain. I sought a programme that would allow me to apply theoretical concepts to solve real-world problems while delving into automotive technologies, especially ground vehicle dynamics. Additionally, I was drawn to the flexibility in course selection and the significant international exposure that KTH offers. This combination ensures a comprehensive and dynamic learning experience, perfectly aligning with my academic and professional goals.

What are the best aspects of your programme?

The best aspects of my programme include a well-balanced approach between theory and practical application, featuring assignments, simulations, real-time testing experiments, and team-based projects that facilitate productive learning. The strong industrial collaborations and the highly knowledgeable and supportive professors are also standout aspects. Moreover, the international environment offers diverse and constructive perspectives on engineering, significantly enriching the educational experience.

Have you chosen a specialization track within the program?

Yes, I have chosen the track of Road Vehicles - Automotive. My interests lie in ground vehicle dynamics and automotive control systems, which led me to select courses such as Applied Vehicle Dynamics Control, Mechatronics, and Control Theory. These subjects are among my favorites and courses like Vehicle Components and Ground Vehicle Dynamics provide real-time testing experiences with the Volvo S90, which adds immense fun and value.

How would you describe your time at KTH so far?

My time at KTH has been incredibly vibrant, filled with fun activities and events constantly taking place. The numerous student organizations cater to a wide range of interests, making student life engaging and dynamic. The winter season has been one of the best experiences for me. Career fairs, conferences, expos, and industrial open houses have provided valuable insights into career opportunities. The people and culture here are remarkably humble and friendly, fostering a genuinely inclusive environment, which has allowed me to make many new friends.

What would you like to say to students thinking of choosing KTH for master’s studies?

To any student thinking about choosing KTH for their master's studies, I'd say: go for it and enjoy! KTH is not just about hitting the books; it's an adventure. Imagine making friends from all over the world while exploring Europe. Plus, the excellent elective courses, industrial projects, and research opportunities keep things interesting. Stockholm, surrounded by high-tech industries, adds to the thrill with endless opportunities to explore. KTH isn’t just a school—it’s a dynamic community where you’ll grow, learn, and have an incredible time!

During your application period, what was the most useful resource that you got from KTH?

During my application period, the most useful resource from KTH was the comprehensive support provided throughout the process. The clear instructions made the application easy to navigate. I highly recommend watching the webinars and connecting with an ambassador to get all your queries answered. The quick response and support from both the KTH administration and individual course coordinators were outstanding. Additionally, KTH's social media and digital teams are excellent, regularly offering guidance to help new applicants and students fine-tune their applications. This support system was one of the best aspects of my application experience.
