Ask Eugen a question

Why did you choose this master's programme at KTH?

While working at Northvolt in Stockholm and completing my thesis there, I discovered my passion for Software Engineering, which led me to pursue further studies in this field. During my time there, I met many KTH students and alumni who highly recommended the university. Their positive experiences greatly influenced my decision. Additionally, I appreciate the Swedish mentality and culture and find Stockholm a fantastic place to live. On top of that, KTH's high ranking and reputation made it my top choice for pursuing a master's degree.

How do studies at KTH differ from your previous studies?

What is exceptional at KTH is the outstanding study-life balance and high-quality courses where you learn a lot. Unlike other academic environments, where courses often culminate in a single extensive exam, KTH incorporates a variety of assessments. This includes individual assignments, group assignments, and group projects. This approach not only enhances learning but also emphasises teamwork. This focus on collaboration is crucial, as learning how to work effectively in international teams is essential for success in the professional world.

How would you describe your time at KTH so far?

My time at KTH has been incredibly rewarding. Studying here was a great decision, as KTH offers much more than just academic learning - it's a vibrant community. I've had the opportunity to meet many kind and intelligent people from around the world. I enjoy collaborating with them on assignments and projects and spending my free time with them. From the beginning, I felt welcomed at KTH, thanks to the mentoring of other students and the numerous events. The emphasis on supporting each other and the open-minded teamwork mentality at KTH have made my experience exceptional.

What do you want to do after graduating?

While life is unpredictable, from my current perspective, I plan to stay in Sweden or at least somewhere in Scandinavia after graduating. I have thoroughly enjoyed living, working, and studying in Sweden, and I appreciate the Scandinavian mentality, particularly the excellent work-life balance. Sweden is a highly developed and innovative country with a strong focus on startups and climate-friendly initiatives, which I find very appealing. If given the opportunity, I would be highly motivated to work as a software engineer at a Swedish or Scandinavian company or institution.
