Ask Samuele a question

Why did you choose this master's programme at KTH?

I was looking for a master's course in Medical Biotechnology at a prestigious European university when KTH caught my attention. This esteemed technical university combines the essential role of a biotechnologist with the advanced bioinformatics tools that are fundamental in today's research field.

How do studies at KTH differ from your previous studies?

My studies in Bologna primarily focused on preparing for heavy oral or written final exams. However, at KTH, evaluations are divided into several parts, allowing students to spread their study load into smaller, more manageable sections. Additionally, there is a strong emphasis on group tasks, which encourages collaboration, while assignments help students deeply understand and better follow the courses. Furthermore, students are encouraged to think independently and provide their own perspectives on the subjects rather than simply memorizing information.

What do you want to do after graduating?

Actually, I'm still undecided: I might pursue a PhD or end up working in a medical or pharmaceutical company. I chose Sweden because there are plenty of research opportunities, making it a good investment for my future.

What would you like to say to students thinking of choosing KTH for master's studies?

Moving to Sweden and studying at KTH is one of the best decisions I have ever made: friendly people, everyone speaks English, there are great opportunities for students, and many places to visit and explore. Moreover, KTH is well-organized and makes you feel at home. Additionally, KTH Royal Institute of Technology is ranked 74th globally according to the QS World University Rankings 2024 and 27th in Europe!

During your application period, what was the most useful resource that you got from KTH?

KTH guided me throughout the entire process. First, their detailed website provided invaluable information, and their webinars helped me understand all the necessary steps for moving to Sweden. They provided the knowledge needed to make such a significant life change less stressful. Additionally, one-on-one meetings were extremely helpful in giving me a better understanding of my master's course, further solidifying my decision.
