Ask Adhitya a question

Have you chosen a specialization track within the programme?

I was always curious to explore nature and the notion of how reality works. The framework of Quantum Mechanics explores this same notion at a fundamental level. But rather than just learning about it, I also wanted to apply it to engineer useful technologies. And this thought landed me on the Quantum Technology track!

How is student life in Stockholm?

It’s great! Stockholm is beautiful in many ways. From pleasant scenery to lively parties, it offered me plenty to explore as a student. With diverse student groups ranging from music to various outdoor activities, there's always something to keep one engaged. Also, personally, Stockholm's efficient transport system that extends almost beyond the city and the kindness of people made my travelling experience more enjoyable!

How would you describe your time at KTH so far?

My time at KTH has been very peaceful yet academically fruitful. It was a little challenging initially, but I received plenty of help from the people around me to push through it and learn more. My first year went by fast without me realising it, but I am happy that I could study and explore the city at the same time. I really like the life-study balance at KTH in that sense.

Are there any student events/associations that you enjoy and can recommend?

I highly recommend joining the THS Student Union and exploring groups like the KTH Outdoor Club and THS Sports. The THS Student Union regularly hosts many engaging events and offers student discount perks at various places. Also, the Outdoor Club opened up exciting opportunities for adventures like hiking and camping at student-friendly prices, which were really fun!

Have you experienced any culture shock?

From the distinct seasonal changes to the people's relaxed pace of living, I have been surprised by many aspects of life here. One thing that stands out is the sweetness in everything – from the people to the food. It was a shock to find that Swedish cuisine is not spicy compared to what I'm used to! But I must confess and recommend trying all the bakery goods here. They are a true delight!
