Why did you choose this master’s programme at KTH?

I have always been intrigued by the universality of technology, its limitless applications and Interconnectivity. I have an excellent background in computer networks, networking, and interconnectivity, with over four years of experience in the sector. Thus, I decided to increase my knowledge base in communication systems. And the good reputation of high-quality education, research facilities and the potential boost I would get in my career are factors which made me decide to pursue a master’s degree in communication systems.

What are the best aspects of your programme?

The best aspect of my programme is that we learn more than just theory. Still, we get educative labs, seminars, and projects that ensure you practice theoretical knowledge and give the student a broader understanding of what is being taught. Another significant aspect of studies at KTH is that we get to do these projects in groups of other students, and one can quickly gain knowledge from other group members in the project process.

Have you chosen a specialisation track within the programme? If Yes, which track and why?

In Communication systems, there are three specialisation tracks for students. We have, Internetworking track, Security and Mobile Computing track, and Wireless Networking; I have chosen the Wireless Networking track because it aligns with my passion, and with the knowledge gained in this track, I would be better positioned to contribute my quota in the industry.

How do studies at KTH differ from your previous studies?

Studies at KTH vary significantly from my earlier studies. More importance was placed on theory and individual work during my bachelor's studies. However, at KTH, my studies are well thought out, and we get to spend much time on practicals doing labs and group projects. Also, in my home institution, we study 5-7 courses simultaneously over a semester and then write all the exams. However, here at KTH, a semester is divided into two periods, and I take two courses per period. This is a helpful strategy, as it helped me dedicate my attention to my current studies and better understand them.

What would you like to say to students thinking of choosing KTH for master’s studies?

Coming to study at KTH is one of my best decisions ever. I would recommend that student thinking of choosing KTH for master's studies do it. It would be a great decision, and you would get the experience of a lifetime at a world-renowned university.
