Swedish applicants

We welcome Swedish applicants together with applicants from all over the world to join our vibrant student community. The requirements for admission to KTH are the same, regardless of where you are from. Whether the admission information is offered in Swedish or English depend on the language of teaching for your desired study option.

Study levels and language

At KTH, all but one bachelor's programme is taught in Swedish. If you want to study a bachelor's programme in Swedish, head over to our Swedish website . One of our bachelor's programmes , all of our master's programmes  and doctoral studies  are provided in English, as are our free online courses

What applies to you as a Swedish applicant?

All information for programmes taught in English at KTH is provided primarily in English. Swedish applicants apply and get admitted the same way as international applicants, so the exact admission requirements and application documents apply to Swedish applicants. You may have experience applying for bachelor's studies at Swedish universities through antagning.se . For our master's programmes, you need to use the equivalent website in English, universityadmissions.se

If you are studying for a bachelor's degree at another Swedish university, you can apply for a master's studies at KTH in your final year. Ensure you have completed 150 ECTS credits in your programme by 1 February.

How to apply

Bachelor's studies

Our bachelor's programme  is open for application in two rounds. Swedish applicants can apply in both rounds as they do not need time to apply for a residence permit.

Master's studies

Our master's programmes  are open for application from mid-October to mid-January each year. 

Doctoral studies

To become a doctoral student  apply for vacant position and pass the selection process.

Free online courses

Our free online courses  are open all of the time so you can start and stop whenever you want.
