Terrence Edison Brown

Professor of Industrial management with specialization in technology-based entrepreneurship

Entrepreneurship is ultimately a method of organising that creates value. Therefore, because it creates value by solving customer and societal problems, it’s one of the most powerful societal activities.

Furthermore, it creates value by creating wealth for the organizer and other stakeholders. For example, it creates jobs so that employees may buy their necessities. Entrepreneurship also increases the tax base, which allows governments to provide essential services to their citizens.

Terrence Brown's research focuses on technology-based entrepreneurship, which is at the centre of numerous crucial discussions, such as starting and growing businesses, regional economic development, choosing the right partners to bring ideas to market, and training managers, engineers, and scientists. His research is explicitly about how entrepreneurship creates value and how individuals and firms create that value.

KTH can only maintain and grow its research relevance based on the degree to which these technologies are commercialised. Professor Brown’s research is about how to create the systems, processes, and organizations to extract the value from technology to improve the lives of Swedish citizens, global citizens, and society at large.
