KTH's academic ceremony

KTH' academic ceremony will take place at Grand Hôtel 17 April 2026. During the ceremony honorary doctors are promoted, newly appointed professors are inaugurated and prizes are awarded.

KTH's academic ceremony is held once a year. During the ceremony, KTH's newly appointed professors are installed, honorary doctors are promoted, the recipients of KTH's grand prize, KTH's prize for industrial collaboration and Janne Carlsson's scholarship are honoured.

KTH's first academic ceremony was held in 1927 and one professor was installed on that occasion. The first time KTH conferred honorary doctorates was in 1944, when HRH Crown Prince Gustaf Adolf, among others, was awarded a doctorate.
