Project managers and researchers

• PDC participates in many international high-performance computing (HPC) projects - these are mainly focused on developing software environments for faster supercomputers in the future which will have more complex designs with even greater levels of parallelism and larger numbers of processing units. These projects often involve taking computer applications from a particular scientific area and scaling them to work on extremely large systems. This frequently includes the development of tools and environments to support such applications.
• PDC also does development in practical aspects of high-performance computing such as working on energy efficiency and heat re-use issues.
• Several people at PDC work on management and/or research in such projects.
