Management positions

  • The director and deputy director of PDC manage the centre and are usually also involved in research and some project management.
  • The group manager for scientific services at PDC manages both the application experts and first-line support personnel. The scientific services group manager is usually also an application expert and may be involved in research. (First-line support staff generally help PDC users to solve basic problems such as issues with logging in or running applications, while application experts assist users with more involved tasks such as optimising code.)
  • The group manager for system administrators and managers at PDC is a system administrator/manager who also manages the team of system administrators and managers. (The team is mainly responsible for keeping the computing and data storage systems at PDC functioning effectively and may also provide some user support by helping PDC users with more complex issues related to using the PDC systems.)

Administrative positions

Following a rearrangement within the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) at KTH, the people who perform purely administrative tasks for PDC are essentially employed centrally by EECS, rather than working specifically for PDC.
