Work package 5 - Cell Therapy
In work package 5, the manufacturing process for the production of human cells as product is addressed, including the production of immune cells, mesenchymal stem cells and pluripotent stem cells.
One aspect is also the development of new tools or approaches for advanced Process Analytical Technology for monitoring and/or control, leveraging the knowledge achieved in WP1. Furthermore, in these processes, omics is used for a better understanding of the cells. One application is the production of Natural Killer cells for autologous treatment, where our efforts focus on tackling the challenge of varying starting material. Another application is the expansion and differentiation of human pluripotent stem cells in bioreactor as aggregates and a third application is the expansion of mesenchymal stem cells in bioreactor.
