PhD Huimin She

Where are you from and where did you study before coming to KTH-ICT?

– I am from China. Before coming to KTH, I studied Microelectronics at Fudan University in Shanghai, China

What is your topic and why did you choose it?

– The title of my doctoral thesis is “Performance analysis and deployment techniques for wireless sensor networks”. The main reason for choosing this topic is that we have a project where we are building a sensor system for some tracking and monitoring applications. Moreover, I am interested in this topic and I have a related background.

Describe your topic in short

– Wireless sensor networks are typically composed of multiple small devices equipped with sensing, computing and wireless communication capabilities. It can be used in many applications, such as supply chain monitoring and environment surveillance. Before designing and deploying such networks, we need to do performance analysis to provide guidelines.

Tell me something about your results

– We proposed several methods for performance analysis and deployment of wireless sensor networks. Our results can provide guidelines for designing wireless sensor networks.

What will the future bring for your research topic?

– There will be more and more applications for wireless sensor networks.

How does your future plans look like?

– I will continue my career at a software company from October. The company is also located in Kista.
