Adaptive Music Production
Design research aimed at finding and evaluating technical solutions that contribute to usability and musical variety in adaptive music.
Production of music for interactive environment have become an increasingly growing industry over the last decades and has become a new scene for musical expression with its own esthetics and communities. Even if technology has improved hugely since the first computer games with music was released, there are still many challenges unsolved and questions to be answered.
This project aims at getting a better understanding of the challenges and contribute with new technical solutions for different musical expressions to effiencetly work in interactive environments. It focuses on acoustic and traditional music to run as transparent as possible as adaptive music.
The project includes interviews with adaptive music producers, prototype design studies and artistic works.
