Rules and criteria Sustainable Fashion Challenge

These are the rules and criteria to enter Sustainable Fashion Challenge, an idea competition by KTH Innovation to inspire new ideas for a more sustainable fashion industry.

Selection process

KTH Innovation will carry out the evaluation process. Shortlisted applicants may be invited for interviews. One team will win 50 000 SEK in funding to develop their idea.

Selection criteria

The winning idea will be selected based on the following criteria:

  • Idea/innovative: That the idea is novel, well thought out, and clearly described.
  • Impact and potential: That the idea has the potential to contribute to a more sustainable fashion industry. That the idea can attract, sustain, and widen its user-base.
  • Realizable: the feasibility of developing and implementing the project.

Ideas can be product-related as well as service-oriented - we do not place restrictions on competition entries.

Open to ideas from students, researchers and employees at KTH

Sustainable Fashion Challenge is open to all ideas from students, researchers and employees at KTH. Non-KTH team members are welcome if the core team has a strong KTH connection.

A competition for early-stage ideas

We welcome ideas that have not yet been developed into a commercial product or service. The idea should not have received financial support from KTH Innovation.

You can submit more than one idea.

Ownership and confidentiality

Note that you can only apply with an idea that is yours. If others have been involved in the creation of the idea or worked on developing it, you must coordinate with them before you apply. If there are any questions or insecurities, our advice is to apply to the challenge together.

Applications for the Sustainable Fashion Challenge will be handled confidentially. KTH Innovation does not take any equity or ownership in the idea.

Funding

The idea cannot have received financial support from KTH Innovation before entering in the competition. Sales to customers may not have exceeded SEK 25,000 up to and including the end of the competition period.

Award

The award consists of funding of up to SEK 50,000 to develop the idea. The funding is paid out in the form of costs covered, in dialogue with KTH Innovation.

The winner undertakes to present their winning contribution at an award ceremony / award ceremony (if such an event takes place) and be interviewed for an article published in KTH Innovation’s channels.

Insecurities

If there are any insecurities regarding the competition rules, the organizers reserve the right to make final decisions regarding the above rules or situations.
