LS1565 Pronunciation and oral presentation for you who have Swedish as a second language 3.0 credits

This course is aimed for you who speak Swedish well but wish to become a more confident language user. On this course, you work on your linguistic awareness, your pronunciation and your comprehension through structured pronunciation exercises as well as exercises in presentation and interaction in groups.

Content and learning outcomes

Course contents

The course consists of lessons with theoretical content and practical exercises in Swedish pronunciation, presentation technique and interaction, and written assignments.

  • Structured exercises with a focus on problematic areas of pronunciation.
  • Practical communication training in groups.
  • Oral presentation practice
  • Individual assignments with a focus on the student's own linguistic needs.

Intended learning outcomes

The purpose of the course is to develop the student's linguistic consciousness and communicative ability with a focus on oral presentation and interaction in the working life. After passing the course, the participant should be able to:

1. Express themselves functionally, with a satisfactory pronunciation which listeners easily can understand.

2. Participate constructively in work-related conversations of various types and be able to adapt their language according to audience and situation.

3. Give oral presentations about work-related subjects in a confident, nuanced and varied manner.
