The concept of exformation is used in the course as a design issue. The process of design is a process of information, of form giving. Exformation is everything deliberately discarded by the “designer” in the form giving process. The course is thus focused on the “discarded information”. Students explore this concept and develop a project with it.

Intended learning outcomes
The objective of the course is to give the students basic knowledge of the design process. On completing the course, the student shall be able to formulate questions and examine different methods and tools in order to solve problems around design processes.

- PRO1 - Project part 1, 4.5 credits, grading scale: P, F
- PRO2 - Project part 2, 3.0 credits, grading scale: P, F
Based on recommendation from KTH’s coordinator for disabilities, the examiner will decide how to adapt an examination for students with documented disability.
The examiner may apply another examination format when re-examining individual students.
Other requirements for final grade
To obtain the grade passed, active participation on 80% of the lectures and exercises and accepted assignments are required.
