The course includes a series of 5 lectures dealing with current international research in architecture and design. Parallel to the lectures students will work individually and in seminars with a longer essay, or a research driven design project. The essay should be around 3500 words in length and attain a quality which is appropriate for publication in an international referee journal. The project should be of comparable extension and depth.

To provide students with the ability to apply critical methods for analysis of and reflection on architecture, and to presentat new knowledge through verbal and visual communication.

Based on recommendation from KTH’s coordinator for disabilities, the examiner will decide how to adapt an examination for students with documented disability.
The examiner may apply another examination format when re-examining individual students.
