news of this year's cars, "Sleipner II" och "Spiros V"
40 students from three different schools have just got back from competing as a team for the KTH Eco Cars in the Shell Eco Marathon in Rotterdam.
The competition involved approximately 220 teams from 24 nations. KTH participated with two cars - one in each class: "Protoype" and "Urban Concept".
The Prototype car, Sleipner, managed to set a new record for the hydrogen-powered Swedish cars in the race, achieving 135 km / kWh which is equivalent to approximately 1200 km / liter converted to unleaded gasoline.
Spiros took part In the Urban Concept class and, after the KTH engineers' heroic efforts, managed to get around the course, although sadly 50 seconds beyond the maximum time of 39 minutes. The fuel consumption result was about 110 km / liter gasoline.
