11th Scandinavian Conference on System and Software Safety

60 participants, mainly from Swedish industry, gathered in Stockholm on 21-22 November for SCSSS 2023, co-organised by MMK's Fredrik Asplund.

DAY 1, held at KTH Innovation , featured keynotes from:

  • Ibrahim Habli (University of York) "Assuring the ethiqs of AI and autonomous systems"
  • Nancy Leveson (MIT) "The Need for a new Paradigm in System Safety Engineering" plus a tutorial "An Introduction to STPA and CAST"

Plus talks from

  • Murat Erdogan (Magna) "How to use out-of-distribution detection method to argue AI/ML-based components into a safety lifecycle and related safety arguments"
  • William Zeng (Roben Automotive) "Holistic approach for streamlined vehicle FuSA and CS engineering"

DAY 2 featured a keynote from

  • Lena Kecklund (MTO Säkerhet) "The future of System Safety - how to apply HTO"

Plus talks from 

  • Barbara Gallina (Mälardalen University) "Assurance of Software-Intensive Medical Devices: What about Mental Harm?"
  • Behrooz Sangchoolie (RISE) "Analyses of the interplay between safety and security attributes in connected computer systems"
