Christian Thomann, St Erik
Christian Thomann, Associate Professor in corporate finance at KTH, has for a few months spent part of his time at the insurance company St Erik.
The initiative came from St Erik which is owned by the City of Stockholm. The exchange was made possible through the City of Stockholm's partnership with Digital Futures.
Through the exchange, Christian had the opportunity to interact with employees at St Erik and to learn from them, every week for a few months. The exchange resulted in a joint research application and was the start of a research project through Digital Futures. The research project also includes a PhD at KTH.
Valuable exchange
-I am still collaborating with St Erik. I think it is very important to interact with the world outside academia. Before joining KTH, I was 12 years at the Ministry of Finance. This experience has been very valuable for my research says Christian Thomann.
The research collaboration with the City of Stockholm and its municipal companies aims to identify and implement effective loss prevention. The work will contribute to better adapting the city to the consequences of climate change.
