The annual Alum of the Year award at KTH aims to recognise and celebrate a prominent alum who is an inspiration to others.
Karin Rådström is the Alum of the Year 2025
Karin Rådström is awarded the KTH Alum of the Year 2025 for her leadership and innovative ability to successfully drive the transition towards sustainable transport solutions.
Karin Rådström is awarded Alum of the Year 2025 for her leadership and innovative ability to drive the transition towards sustainable transport solutions. She holds a Master's degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from KTH and has a successful career in the automotive industry.
After her studies at KTH, she worked for several major automotive manufacturers, starting as a trainee at Scania, where she developed into a Sales Director. Today, she is the CEO of Daimler Truck, the world's largest truck company with around 100 000 employees worldwide.
In her work on the transition to fossil-free transport systems, she focuses on communication, problem-solving and strengthening partnerships. She shows how technical expertise combined with visionary leadership leads to innovative development within the automotive industry.
Karin has been an elite rower for the Swedish national team. Her strong drive to work for a sustainable future and her embrace of diversity make her a true role model who inspires us to change the world for the better.

Nominate Alum of the Year
Nominate a KTH alum who inspires you and is a leader in the sustainable development of society. The Alum of the Year should hold a degree from KTH. The KTH Alumni Advisory Board reviews the nominations and issues a recommendation to the KTH President, who makes the final decision.
The award ceremony for Alum of the Year awardee takes place at the Graduation Ceremony in the Stockholm City Hall during spring. The Alum of the Year awardee usually joins the KTH Alumni Day in the autumn. You are welcome to email questions or a nomination to alumni@kth.se.
