From 6 to 14 May, GDH Director Lena Gumaelius visited Rwanda as a part of GDH. The purpose of the trip was to visit our partner universities and, together with the Elekta Foundation, visit Karongi, a city in western Rwanda, to learn more about how to mobilize power for change in Rwanda.

During Lena Gumaelius' visit to Rwanda, she was honoured to participate in the Rwanda Polytechnic graduation ceremony, which celebrated over 3,000 graduates. Nearly 10,000 people gathered at the sports arena in Kigali, including the country's Prime Minister, who emphasized the importance of technical education and the significant contributions engineers can make to the nation. KTH is actively supporting the development of higher academic programs, with a Master's program expected to be established in a few years.
