Circular Economy Research Workshops for PhD Students
Workshops aimed at PhD students to enhance their research portfolio in The Circular Economy, and give them training on how to review research papers/proposals as well as how to receive and provide critical feedback.
Background
The Circular Economy (CE) is a new paradigm for economic development and a policy initiative. The CE transition is gaining global momentum to respond to the existing unsustainable, linear ‘take-make-dispose’ economic model. Promoting circularity aims at accomplishing sustainable development, and the CE has links to many of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
Aims and objectives
This project prepared and submitted a proposal to organize Research Workshops on CE for PhD students from three schools (ITM, CBH, ABE) and eight departments that are involved in CE@KTH initiative at KTH (https://www.kth.se/ce). This will help the PhD students to enhance their research portfolio in CE. Furthermore, through these workshops, the PhD students will get training on how to review research papers/proposals as well as how to receive and provide critical feedback. By promoting and strengthening the research and collaboration on CE, these workshops will address SDG 8 and SDG 12.
Project plan
Applied interdisciplinarity
The work is done in close collaboration with other departments at KTH. It involves researchers from three different departments to combine efforts on the topic of Circular Economy.
