They are both students at the System-on-Chip Design program. 66 student teams entered the competition from the Nordic countries, and seven teams competed in the finals.

How do you feel?

“We are very happy and proud to do so well in this Nordic competition, Huan and Xin explains. We were the only team from KTH, and one of two teams from Sweden in the finals.

Why do you call your team “Panda”?

”It’s obvious. The Panda is the national symbol for China. And sometimes, after studying to much, we look like pandas with black rings around our eyes, they joke!!

How did you come up with the idea to build the system for “voiceprint”?

“Our professor Ingo Sander suggested the theme to us. The principle behind it is that each voice is unique. Just like each of us has our individual fingerprint, we all have our voiceprint. Thus you can us your voce to identify yourself for example when you log in to your computer.

What do you study?

“We study the second year on the SoC master program, that has about 20 Chinese students. We got our Bachelor from Zhejiang University in China. We chose KTH because of its excellent reputation and because of the solid cooperation between KTH ICT and Zhejiang University.

What will you do once you finish your master studies?

"We are in the process of finding an interesting subject for our master’s thesis at a good company. We will graduate this summer, and then the real job hunt will start. We plan to work in Europe for a couple of years before going back to China."

Dream company?

”Ericsson, both reply directly. And Infineon, they add quickly.
