Reuse

Hammarby Sjöstadsverk – researching tomorrow’s wastewater treatment technologies.

Lack of fresh water is a growing problem in many parts of the world. At Hammarby Sjöstadsverk we develop techniques that will make it possible to reuse treated wastewater. This unique facility is owned and operated by a consortium lead by the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) and IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute. Here, we carry out national and international research projects as well as education, testing and development, in close collaboration with industry and other partners.
