Student Rocket Projects (REXUS)
Student rocket projects are carried out in collaboration with other divisions at KTH within the REXUS programme.
All student rocket projects are parts of the REXUS/BEXUS programme , which is realized under a bilateral Agency Agreement between the German Aerospace Centre (DLR) and the Swedish National Space Board (SNSB), in collaboration with the European Space Agency (ESA). The annual programme gives student teams from ESA member countries an opportunity to launch their experiment on a REXUS sounding rocket or a BEXUS high altitude balloon from Esrange near Kiruna.
The Bi-stable Boom Dynamic Deployment ( B2D2 ) experiment is currently ongoing student rocket project. It aims to flight qualify a bi-stable composite boom which is deployed from a CubeSat like platform in low gravity. A pair of dual fluxgate magnetometers developed at KTH will be placed on this boom to measure the Earth magnetic field with an accuracy of 50 nT.
