Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Sustainable Energy will build on fundamental principles of business and entrepreneurship previously acquired in course work. In this course, opportunities for entrepreneurial activities in the area of sustainable energy will be discussed in-depth, with real case studies forming the basis for such discussions. Also, the linkage between technical development, entrepreneurship and sustainable development will be analyzed. The course will be a mix of theoretically oriented seminars, and hands-on opportunities in assessing the potential of a business idea and develop the start of an entrepreneurial venture.

After completing the course, students should be able to, as applied to the field of Sustainable Energy Technology:
* Discuss and analyze entrepreneurship and innovation
* Analyze State-of-the-Art and merging technology in Research and Development to identify opportunities for innovation
* Identify a business opportunity
* Develop and Explain a Business Idea
* Develop and write a complete business plan
* Demonstrate a good understanding of key factors for a succesful venture, speficically:
--> describing the process and phases of launching a venture
--> describing important aspects of a good management of a new venture
--> describing strategies for approaching new customers, and gain visibility for new ventures
