Exercises in morphology, design, haptility, tactility and sound take place initially every week.
Both quantity and quality are of great importance, as is the student's documentation of and reflection on the exercises.
After briefing, the students work individually during the week with the exercise that is completed by discussions it at seminars during the following the week. During the second part of the course, a smaller design project with a focus on shape is carried out, based on the earlier exercises.
MF2116 Advanced Formgiving in haptics and tactility 3.0 credits
In this course we look at how to combine the knowledge from the course MF2096 Advanced design with haptility, tactility and sound. We will create a consumer product where the student focuses on interaction design through haptility, tactility, sound and form to enhance the product's communication with the user.

Course contents
Intended learning outcomes
After passing the course, the students should be able to:
1. create abstract shapes of high quality with respect to proportions, composition and expression with the application of haptility, tactility and sound.
2. by means of human computer interaction through haptility, tactility understand how one works with physical products to increase experience and communication, and approach the human aspect to counteract the negative aspects of an increasingly digitalised world.

Specific prerequisites
15 higher education credits in industrial design and formgiving equivalent to the contents in the courses MF1061 Introduction to Design and Product realisation and MF1062 Design and Product Realisation together and MF2096 Advanced Formgiving.
Or MF2023 Industrial Design and MF2096 Advanced Formgiving.

Based on recommendation from KTH’s coordinator for disabilities, the examiner will decide how to adapt an examination for students with documented disability.
The examiner may apply another examination format when re-examining individual students.
Based on the recommendation from the KTH office of support to students with disabilities, the examiner has the right to agree on adapted forms of examination for students with a documented, permanent disability.
In re-examinations, the examiner has the right to allow other forms of examination of individual students.
Other requirements for final grade
The student should complete and submit all exercises with documentation, at a level reasonable for the scope of the course.
