Content and learning outcomes

Course contents

Students work alone or in small groups witha defined subproject withinin an ongoing research and development project.The wor kmust be design or development in nature and relate to experimental systems, but need not be limited to traditional mechanical engineering, e.g may also deal with electronics, software, design of products, etc.The work is led by a researcher or a PhD student at the department.

Intended learning outcomes

The course objective is to present students with the opportunity to take part in ongoing research in well-defined development projects.The students have thus the opportunity to apply their knowledge in theoretical and experimental projects and also to see the results.This course can be seen as preparation for the MSc thesis project and a path onward to research studies.

Good knowledge of mechanical design, mechatronics and electrical engineering, corresponding content in course MF1016 Basic Electrical Engineering and MF1045
Product realization - Engineering Design.
