Intended learning outcomes
The purpose of the course is to provide PhD-students of EDIM with a common knowledge basis on the theories and practices in the field of Industrial Management.
The PhD-student shall after the course:
- Have a basic understanding of the academic subject of Industrial Management and how it relates to current research at KTH, PoliMi, and UPM.
- Have insights in current industrial trends, practices, and issues, and be able to relate them to current academic research.
- Be able to write, present, and discuss own research ideas to his/her peers within the field.

PhD students within the Erasmus Mundus Joint Doctoral program European Doctorate in Industrial Management (EDIM).

If the course is discontinued, students may request to be examined during the following two academic years.

Examination
Based on recommendation from KTH’s coordinator for disabilities, the examiner will decide how to adapt an examination for students with documented disability.
The examiner may apply another examination format when re-examining individual students.
Other requirements for final grade
- Active participation in seminars, lectures, study visits to companies, etc organized within the EDIM programme.
- Presence at 80%, or more, of the course activities
- Hand-in assignments

- In any assessment, every student shall honestly disclose any help received and sources used.
- In an oral assessment, every student shall be able to present and answer questions about the entire assignment and solution.
