The course deals in part with theoretical principles of justice, and in part with the legislation governing construction and management of infrastructure. Of primary concern is legislation regarding transport systems, power supply, water and sewage, telecommunications etc., as well as legislation on protection and preservation of the built environment and natural areas. The course represents a deepening and extension of the subject contents in previous real property law courses.
The course design consists mainly of lectures and seminars.
The overall objective for this course is to provide extended knowledge of problems and solutions on issues concerning principal responsibility for, and forms of financing of, different types of infrastructure facilities.
This means that the course participants after completion, inter alia, shall be able to:
- Account for alternative systems of principal responsibility for construction and management of infrastructure facilities.
- Account for alternative forms of financing systems for construction and management of infrastructure facilities.
- Compare and evaluate these alternative systems of responsibility and distribution from different principles of justice.
- Apply the theoretical knowledge to explain and analyze current law on construction and management of infrastructure facilities.
