Content and learning outcomes

Course contents

The course is an introduction to a number of important areas within real estate and finance; the role and function of the financial system, the real estate market, economics and capital investment appraisal.

The students will get practical experience of collecting and analyzing information in a scientific correct way in writing a written report.

Intended learning outcomes

Upon successful completion of the course, the student should be able to:

Knowledge and understanding

1. Explain the development and sustainability of the real estate market in terms of function, financing, and management.

2. Describe the structure of the financial system, relevant actors, and the role in the urban planning and building process.

3. Explain the function of the financial system and its instruments concerning entrepreneurship and business operations.

4. Explain the fundamentals of real estate law and real estate development.

Skills and abilities

5. Demonstrate the ability to apply the theories, concepts, models, and methods covered in the course.

6. Locate, use, and evaluate different types of information sources and decision-making materials.

7. Write and orally present a well-structured and informative paper

Evaluation ability and approach

8. Search and analyze information within a given framework and present the results.
