At Stockholm University we will give a PhD course in Electron Crystallography in May. The course will provide an introduction to crystallographic analysis of electron microscopy data such as 3D electron diffraction and high-resolution (S)TEM images. The course has a focus on data analysis and contains lectures, exercises and a project.
The course Electron Crystallography (KZ41010) is 7.5 hp and will be given May 6 – May 31.
We would like to invite you to our FREE University Day, together with KTH University.
Join us for an exciting day where focus will be on increasing your knowledge on specimen preparation and analysis, so you can learn ways of optimizing your preparation process. Furthermore, our University Day is a day where you have the opportunity to not only get updated on the latest tendencies, but get the chance to network with companies working with materialographic preparation and analysis. At the same time, you have the opportunity to meet other researchers and learn about their projects.
See the program right here: University Day KTH 2024 (struers.com)
Note: All lectures will be conducted in English
We hope you are interested in spending the day with us and the university team as we deep dive into the world of materialography. If you want to participate, please send an email to our marketing colleague, Sara, using the link below. To ensure that we can accommodate everybody, we kindly ask you to write your full name, company, your job title and if you have any food allergies.
On Thursday June 15th you have the possibility to learn about what additional techniques you can use in the SEM. We organize a workshop on SEM in-situ techniques "Microscopy is more than images" where we will introduce some of the tools you can add to SEMs.
73rd Annual Meeting of the Nordic Microscopy Society!
SCANDEM 2023 hereby continues the tradition of inviting and gathering international researchers in the field of microscopy to share their latest findings and socialize at a Nordic location- this time the Ångström laboratory in Uppsala, Sweden.
SCANDEM is an important forum for leading international research groups in industry and academia to meet and discuss the latest trends and developments in microscopy focused on material science and biology. SCANDEM 2023 will feature invited talks by leading international and local researchers in microscopy and assocaited areas, oral and poster presentations of submitted papers and abstracts, as well as an industrial exhibition, and workshops with various focus themes.
SCANDEM 2023 is organized by Uppsala University and the Nordic Microscopy Society.
PhD course in advanced transmission electron microscopy at Stockholm University in May-June
We will be giving a PhD course in advanced transmission electron microscopy at Stockholm University during May. The course will cover in-depth theoretical and practical aspects of transmission electron microscopy and is intended for students with some prior experience in electron microscopy. The course includes advanced techniques such as scanning TEM imaging, spectroscopy, 4D-STEM and electron tomography. It involves significant hands-on practical sessions including both data acquisition and data analysis.
The course Advanced transmission electron microscopy (KZ41011) is 7.5 hp and will be given May 2 – June 2.
During February–March we offer training on the Scanning electron microscope (SEM) at Hultgren laboratory, together with licensing on Hitachi S3700N. The instructors are experienced researchers specializing on the instrument. This training opportunity is sponsored with a subsidised charge.
