About me
Oscar Tjernberg is a professor in quantum matter and leads a research group focusing on understanding and manipulating quantum materials. Quantum materials are a category of materials where quantum effects play a dominating role that is visible also at the macroscopic level. Examples are given by magnetism, superconductivity, heavy electron systems and topological materials. Quantum materials are at the forefront of modern condensed matter research and represent challenges in basic research as well as promises of new future technologies. The main research tool is the BALTAZAR laboratory for ultra-fast and high resolution angle resolved photoelectron spectroscopy (tr-ARPES). The research group is also active users of synchrotron light sources and free electron lasers.
