Media attention

A KTH press release in February 2006 caught worldwide media attention. New experimental research had shown that small circular roughness elements could be used to delay the onset of transition to turbulence in a boundary layer (Fransson et al. Phys. Rev. Lett 2006). At the time this was contra intuitive since it meant that a rough surface could lead to skin-friction drag reduction.
