Bachelor of Science in Engineering

The Division of Health Informatics and Logistics offers three courses and study programmes for Bachelor of Science in Engineering. The programmes span three years and are given in Swedish.

Bachelor of Science Computer Engineering

The programme focuses on training competent engineers in the IT field. The education also provides a strong foundation for further studies in technology and IT.
During the training, theory is combined with practical exercises. The students read, among other things programming, data structures, algorithms, network, databases, operating system, software development and system integration.

The programme also emphasizes project-based learning, where students have the opportunity to work in groups and apply their knowledge to real-world problems. After completing the education, a university engineer in computer technology can work in areas such as

  • system development
  • network administration
  • database management
  • IT security
  • consulting services.

Bachelor of Science Electrical Engineering

Electrical engineering has a decisive importance for the future business life and a sustainable society. Among other things, it is a prerequisite for smart electricity grids and a transition to renewable energy sources.

The programme provides a stable basis for being able to work in virtually all technical industries immediately after graduation, for example

  • electrical installations
  • the electricity grid and the energy supply of the future
  • electronics and embedded systems
  • the transport of the future
  • mobile telephony
  • Internet of Things
  • mobile communication
  • future vehicle and railway technology
  • medical technology solutions for improved healthcare.

During the first year, the foundations are laid in mathematics, programming, digital electronics, computer technology, network technology, electrical engineering and sustainable development. The connection to the professional role as an engineer is also addressed. During the second academic year, the technical knowledge in electronics, telecommunications and electric power technology is deepened.

Project work is repeated in all grades, which is an important part of training the ability to work both independently and in groups. In the final academic year, there are two tracks to choose from: Embedded Systems and Computer Networks and Electrical Power Engineering.
