Resource-efficient use of existing resources within the transport systems related to public housing
Aim and main expected results
The aim of the project is to create a digital knowledge base and infrastructure that makes available existing resources where vehiclesare a natural part of public housings’ service offer and steer towards a more resource-efficient and climate-smart society. As a startingpoint and policy instrument, we focus on one of public housings worst-used resources. Sweden's public housing has about 800,000 parking spaces with poor mapping of utilization, cost and alternative use, and at the same time, the residents and companies' vehiclesare often idle and unused. In this project we want to map, plan and create a basis for conversion of public utility existing parking stock as if it were to be created in new production. The project aims to find similar or new financial incentives in investments of modern mobilitysolutions for existing parking resources similar to what is currently applied to new production of parking stock. The project includespublic housing companies, politics, businesses and users.
3 Pilot projects will be implemented across three different loactions in Sweden as living labs + a large survey sent to 365 organisations.
