The labs for Production Engineering in Södertälje covers the three focus areas of the department: Production Logistics, Production Management and Industrial Dependability.
The Production Logistics Lab
The production logistics lab is a physical environment with equipment for intra-plant logistics, real-time connected to a digital twin. Key equipment includes:
- AGV MiR200
- Picking robot UR10e
- RTLS (Real Time Location System) installation Griffin Enterprise Positioning Services
- Racks, pallets, and goods
- Connectivity solution based on wifi/5G
- Plant service bus solution Apache Kafka and Node-RED
- KTH Cloud solution
- Digital environment with Dashboard and VR Unity

The Lean Training center
The Lean Traning center is operated by and organised as a pedalcar factory. The factory is based on the participants' improvement work while assembling and quality assuring pedalcars in an assembly line.
Digital Twin environment
The physical lab environment, including the production logistics lab, the hallway including elevator as well as the pedal car factory, has been 3D scanned and imported to a digital model, together with CAD elements of equipment and products. This digital model is real-time connected with the physical environment, creating a digital twin representation.
