Why did you choose this master's programme at KTH?
I concentrated on Thermal Sciences in my bachelor's degree. The academic curriculum, internships and thesis helped me in advanced learning about industrial processes. My main reasons for choosing this master's programme were that the Sustainable Power Generation track courses in the Sustainable Energy Engineering programme delved deeper into the technical aspects of industrial processes and steps to enhance the overall efficiency. Moreover, the research undertaken at the department piqued my interest.
What are the best aspects of your programme?
In my opinion, the best aspects of my programme are the courses and projects. Specifically, the projects offer different platforms to test one's knowledge gained in the classroom and help them visualise the practical application of theoretical concepts. Further, the project groups are formed randomly in many courses, offering an opportunity to meet and work with new people. Another aspect of my programme is the regular occurrence of technical and social events, like games and dinners organised by the department.
How is student life in Stockholm?
Stockholm is one of the best student-friendly cities in the world. Different kinds of student accommodations are available around the city, and they are all well connected to KTH campuses via a fast and efficient transportation system. One can enjoy their walk through the streets of Stockholm, seeing the social life, architecture and engineering marvels. A generous offering of student discounts by many businesses in Stockholm is a blessing to the students, making living affordable in Stockholm without burning their pockets much. Various social gatherings and technical meetups happen throughout the city, and students can utilise them free of cost or at a nominal price.
How would you describe your time at KTH so far?
KTH has brought out a different side of me academically and personally. I believe this is due to two main reasons: dedicated, focussed and efficient faculty and state-of-the-art infrastructure, and the international and multicultural atmosphere here at KTH. On the academic front, the faculty, well-structured courses, technical events and laboratories bring the best out of the individuals. One's perspective diversifies while mingling with students from different backgrounds and cultures. Moreover, the networking and technical events conducted by various industries and research institutes at KTH offer many great opportunities to enhance one's professional prospects.
