Parisa
Parisa is studying the Interactive Media Technology programme at KTH. She is 24 years old and have previously studied Computer Engineering in her home country, Iran. It’s been a year since she moved to Sweden, and her hobbies include watching anime, reading, and gaming.
Why did you choose this master’s programme at KTH?
Having my background in mind, I hoped to increase my knowledge in a field connected to my previous studies but focused more on human-computer interactions. Then I found the Interactive Media Technology master’s programme, which offered various courses and specialisation tracks one can pursue. User Experience, Artificial Intelligence, and Graphics were the tracks that caught my attention and eventually led me to apply for this programme.
Have you chosen a specialisation track within the programme?
Not yet! As I previously mentioned, there are plenty of options available for us. We have 60 credits to choose from any of the courses we desire. That’s why I want to explore more, try different courses and see which track I can flourish in before deciding on one.
How do studies at KTH differ from your previous studies?
If I want to answer this question with one word, I’d say “teamwork”. What I’ve found most interesting here at KTH is that there is no “I” when creating solutions. Everyone contributes and has a say in every part of the project. Student groups bring so much to the table and effortlessly overcome their challenges.
What do you want to do after graduating?
I want to make the most of what I've learned and pursue a career in the specialisation track I chose. To further explain this, I want to dedicate my time to creating interfaces that bring people and technology closer, gaining experience, and conducting research after graduation.
What would you like to say to students considering choosing KTH for master’s studies?
I'll tell them that being a student at KTH is one experience I would put down as a "MUST" when it comes down to studying abroad. Many exchange students apply to KTH every year because they want to experience the vibrant student life here in Stockholm. KTH offers students a distinguished learning environment with much room for growth and gives them access to various facilities, clubs, events, and so much more. The possibilities here are endless, so it would be a waste if students miss the opportunity to study at KTH.
