Do you have any recommendations for students searching for their first job?

I found my first position via a KTH career fair, Armanda. I suggest that students take part in as many events as possible to find out what different industries are doing and to make contact with the industries they are interested in.

What happens during an ordinary day at Nasdaq?

My morning starts with a stand-up meeting to update each other on current progress. After our daily meeting, I continue with my current project, which usually involves testing different functions. In order to do that, I need to read the product specification carefully. I then design test cases, after which I check with business analysts to determine whether the expected product behaviour meets our customers’ needs. Eventually, I report any identified bugs to our developers after carrying out test cases.

Do you have a dream job?

To be an expert in the fintech field. [Financial technology, also known as fintech, is an economic industry composed of companies that use technology to make financial services more efficient.]

What are the other students from your class doing now?

Some of them are in the telecommunications industry, working for companies such as Huawei and Ericsson. Some of them are working in IT, and the rest are doing PhDs.

Would you recommend KTH to others as a place to study?

Yes, definitely! To start with, the curriculum (for my programme, at least) is well designed. It emphasises academic research and teaching, which provides students with a solid professional background. Many courses are jointly operated by KTH and its industry partners, which offers great opportunities for students to build up practical experience and to prepare for their future career. Furthermore, Stockholm is an international city with plenty of possibilities and opportunities. I believe it is a beautiful place to start one’s career.

What advice would you give a student who is thinking about applying to KTH?

Try to practise critical thinking and independent problem-solving skills.
