KTH is a great university in an amazing city, and this provides you with lots of opportunities
Teddy comes from Italy. He obtained his bachelor degree in Computer Science at the University of Trento(Italy). Creating innovation has always been one of his biggest dreams, and technology is the perfect tool to break new ground. He loves playing volleyball in his spare time.
Why did you choose this master's programme at KTH?
Having looked through all the possible options for my master's, I was delighted to see how KTH's programme in ICT Innovation matches my interest in both Computer science and business. I believe that being able to merge IT knowledge with business-oriented knowledge and skills is the way to succeed. Furthermore, after spending six months in the Netherlands with an Erasmus scholarship, I wanted to live abroad again to learn more about cultures different from mine.
What are the best aspects of your programme?
I've been told during my previous studies that I was a computer scientist, and that was it, but I never wanted to stop there, I always enjoyed aspects of economics, statistics, sociology and ethics. My passion and curiosity towards these fields is the reason why I chose the master's degree in ICT Innovation is a perfect combination of who I am and who I want to be. This programme gives me the opportunity to work with European top research facilities and leading business partners of KTH and develop my technical skill and my entrepreneurial ones as well.
Have you chosen a specialization track within the programme? If Yes, which track and why?
I chose the programme of autonomous systems because it allows me to dig deeper into the field of artificial intelligence also applied to autonomous driving, which I think will be the future of mobility.
What are some of your favourite courses so far?
Entrepreneurship for engineers and Machine learning
How does studies at KTH differ from your previous studies?
My studies now are more business oriented and entrepreneurial. In Italy, the courses I was following were purely technical, and I felt like I was not expressing my full potential. Furthermore, teachers at KTH are passionate about their field, and we students can really feel it. Moreover, the year here is structured in shorter study periods with weekly assignments. Instead, in Italy, we have semesters where we follow classes with not as many assignments. That's an interesting shift for the best. With KTH's structure, I can focus on fewer classes and perform better in the final exams.
How is student life in Stockholm?
The university has a nice international community in this environment, and it is easy to meet students from all around the world with the same interests.
How would you describe your time at KTH so far?
My time here has been quite interesting; challenging but exciting at the same time. Also, I'm looking forward to creating more memories in this beautiful city.
What do you want to do after graduating?
I would love to become an entrepreneur in the ICT field to shape and change people's lives for the better. KTH Innovation and the EIT program are really good places to start. Also, I want to travel all around the world and help as many people through volunteering.
What would you like to say to students thinking of choosing KTH for master's studies?
If you are motivated and passionate about your field KTH is the first step to achieve your professional aspiration and at the same time meet many international students that are on your same journey. I applied for KTH because here I can reach my full potential, and I think that this school can be the right option for many other students.
