Swedish language courses
The Unit for language and communication at KTH offers exchange students Swedish language courses free of charge. An Intensive Swedish language course on the elementary level is offered at KTH campus from 2 August to 22 August. Part-time Swedish language courses are semester long and run along the other major exchange studies at KTH.
Language and communication for exchange students
The Swedish courses have been divided into different proficiency levels - A1, A2, B1, B1/B2 and B2, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The courses are designed in such a way that each level is built on the preceding level. A1 is the elementary course, and if you have no previous knowledge of the language you should apply for this course. You must fulfill the requirements of passing for each level before continuing to the next. Students with previous knowledge in Swedish should do a web-based placement test to confirm their level. It is an interactive test which gives the students an immediate result.
