European Health Insurance Card
When travelling in EU/EES, Switzerland, and Great Britain make sure to bring your EHIC (European Health Insurance Card). The card should be ordered well in advance from your national health insurance provider .
Travelling with medicine
It is important to know what applies to different countries and different medicines. Information and forms in order to travel with a larger amount of medicine can be found on 1177's website (information in Swedish). A good advice is to keep the medicine in the original can, to show it is truly yours. Call 1177 for more information or contact your doctor for more advice.
Vaccinations
Before departure make sure to update your vaccination protection if needed. If you are traveling outside the EU, you should always consult a doctor regarding vaccination. You can get vaccinated at a healthcare- or vaccination centre. For more information about infectious diseases and vaccinations visit the Public Health Agency of Sweden .
