Ramon Wyss new Vice-President of KTH

Ramon Wyss, Professor at the Division of Nuclear Physics at KTH, has been appointed as Vice-President for International Projects. He has previously worked as Vice-President both at KTH and at Jönköping International Business School.

“International projects are growing in scope and importance and will play an increasingly important role in KTH’s strategic activities aimed at strengthening its profile as a leading technical university. I am looking forward to participating in international projects that develop KTH expertise and potential,” states Ramon.

Ramon Wyss has both a Master’s and a Doctorate from KTH. After a period as post doc at Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee, USA (1990–1992) he returned to KTH to continue his research career within the subject of nuclear physics. In 2006 he was appointed as Professor of Theoretical Nuclear Physics at KTH.

His research within theoretical nuclear physics is aimed at nuclear structure and particle disintegration. He has carried out extensive cooperation with many experimental groups in order to improve model development and was awarded the Edlundska Prize by the Swedish Royal Academy of Sciences in 1995.

In 2002–2007 he worked as Vice-President for Internationalisation Issues at KTH. Since the autumn of 2008 he has been working as Vice-President of International Contacts at Jönköping International Business School. Ramon Wyss will take up his new position as Vice-President on 1 June.
