Pilloxa's story
The team behind Pilloxa wanted to help patients who felt confused and anxious following medical treatments. They met at a Clinical Innovation Fellowship program in May 2014, and saw that their combined background in technology, medicine, and entrepreneurship could make an impact.
The team behind Pilloxa wanted to help patients who felt confused and anxious following medical treatments. They met at a Clinical Innovation Fellowship program in May 2014, and saw that their combined background in technology, medicine, and entrepreneurship could make an impact.
After spending a few months studying the problem, they had an idea. Their first solution was a smart pillbox that would help patients take their medication correctly.
With the help of their business coach at KTH Innovation, they learned about the world of sales, grant applications and raising funds. The main challenge, however, proved to be finding the right customer, and they soon shifted from individual patients to businesses. In the following years, they added new solutions to their portfolio, but always kept the well-being of the patient at the core.
Today, Pilloxa is a platform where healthcare and pharma companies can engage their patients and learn from them. The mission: making people healthier through technology.
