Wallenberg Center for Quantum Technology, WACQT

WACQT aims to take Swedish research and industry to the forefront of quantum technology. Funded mainly by the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation, with contributions from the co-funding universities, WACQT is developing and securing Swedish expertise in quantum computing, simulation, communication and sensing.

KTH leads the excellence program in quantum communication, with Katia Gallo, Professor of Applied Physics, as the PI, and the EDI-WACQT initiative for equality, diversity and inclusion with PI WACQT Fellow Vaishali Adya.

Many more KTH researchers from the Schools of Engineering and Computer Science are involved in research, teaching and training activities spanning all the four pillars of quantum technology: communication, sensing, computing and simulation.

WACQT is a 12-year research effort, with a total budget of SEK 1.4 billion, funded mainly by the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation with contributions from Chalmers, KTH, Lund and industry partners such as Ericsson, Astra Zeneca and Volvo, among others.
